Home Repair Emergency Checklist
When a pipe bursts, shut off your home's main water valve immediately, then call a plumber. Every minute counts when it comes to limiting water damage.
For electrical emergencies like sparking outlets or a burning smell, switch off the breaker for that circuit at your panel and avoid touching anything until an electrician arrives.
If your AC fails during extreme heat, check your circuit breaker and air filter first. If neither is the issue, call for emergency service rather than waiting, especially with young children or elderly family members at home.
Keep a list of licensed local professionals saved before an emergency happens. Searching for help while water is spreading across your floor is the worst time to start looking.
